Cyprus is famous for its fine beaches. They are the number one reason why tourists visit the island. The sun in Cyprus generally shines bright throughout the year. As such it keeps the sea warm for comfortable swimming from early May all the way through October.

nissi beachNissi beach is a very popular and lively beach. It is a particular favorite for relaxing after a long night out in Ayia Napa.

Nissi, which in Greek translates as "small island", gives a new dimension to the beauty of the landscape. It is well sheltered from the wind and facilitates all sea sports.The wonderful long stretch of beach sheltered by Nissi Island can be seen for miles and with its shelving fine white sands and calm clear water makes this beach a must-see.

Nissi Bay is a few kilometers west of the harbor and offers a great variety of water sports,cafes, pubs and restaurants.

 

 

Yiannakis BeachYiannakis Beach is simply a beautiful one with some stunning views and is definitely worth a visit.To access this beach, you travel down the road leading to the Baths of Aphrodite in Latchi;  a spectacular setting. Once you have reached Yiannakis Beach you will see fantastic views of the Akamas peninsula to the west and Pomos point to the east.

The waters are very clear and superb for snorkeling and other water sports. Dotted along the coastline are also a number of restaurants and bars in which to experience the local cuisine.This beach is highly recommended and really makes a day to remember.

 

 

Ladies Mile Beach is located close to the new Limassol Port and is only a 15 minute drive from the center of Limassol town center.
Here you can walk along the golden sandy beach for miles and swim in the crystal calm waters away from the crowds.

The water here is shallow and extremely clear, ideal for kids and is perfect for someone looking for some peace and quiet.

This beach is the best around for windsurfing due to its flat shallow waters and you will also find many other water sports to offer to someone looking for something a little more energetic.

Water sports are also found in abundance here and many people choose to windsurf and water ski on this stretch of coast.

 

Petra Tou Romiou This beach has a simply spectacular setting. Here you can leisurely walk along this gorgeous beach and take in the breathtaking views all around.

Legend has it that this is where the Goddess Aphrodite rose from a gentle foam wave resulting in many a poet and writer to visit this spot for inspiration.

There are two large rocks which can be viewed from the beach . The Greek name of the rock is "Petra tou Romiou" translated as "Rock of the Greek." This is associated with the legendary Byzantium frontier-guard, Digenis Akritas. It is said that here he kept the Arab pirates at bay by throwing two rocks at them from the hillside above.
